This calculator may come in handy for those who are not familiar with the tax system in Armenia and want to calculate the net salary and basic taxes.

Based on the current laws, the minimum monthly net salary is 75,000 AMD.

From 1 July 2018, all employees born after 1 January 1974 should make funded social insurance payments (or pension contributions).

It’s calculated as follows:

  • If the monthly gross salary is less than 500,000 AMD: 5% of the monthly gross salary 

  • If the monthly gross salary is more than 500,000 AMD: 10% of the monthly gross salary minus 25,000 AMD. The maximum threshold for the calculation of the pension contribution is 1,125,000 AMD.

It is a contribution to the insurance foundation of servicemen, which is withheld in the following manner:

The individual income tax rate in Armenia is 20% of one’s monthly gross salary. Currently, there is a tax exemption in Armenia for employees of certified IT companies, which includes Exness. If you are employed by Exness in Armenia, your monthly tax is capped at 10% of your monthly gross salary.

Individuals are considered as a tax resident in Armenia if:

  • They are physically present in Armenia for 183 days or more during the tax year (from 1 January to 31 December)

  • Their center of vital interests is in Armenia, or

  • They are in the civil service of Armenia.

Individuals who do not meet any of these conditions are considered as non-residents. 

Please note that social security payments and army contributions are applicable only to Armenian citizens and residents (i.e. holders of residence permits).
